Our story. Our people. Our purpose.
Inertia was built on a single conviction: that every Indian investor deserves independent, conflict-free advice. Since 2012, we've been making that possible.
How it began
Founded in 2012. Built on a gap the industry refused to close.
When Shobhit Khare conceptualised Inertia, he had spent years in institutional equity research — and saw the same problem from the inside: investors were being served by a system built for its own benefit, not theirs. Fund distributors earn trails from every product they recommend. Banks cross-sell to meet quotas. Commission structures determine which "advice" reaches the retail investor.
Inertia was conceived as an answer. When Anshul Khare turned that idea into a practice in 2014 — leaving a stable career to build something that didn't yet exist in their world — the intent was unambiguous from day one. A practice where the only income is from client fees. A practice with no permission to earn commissions. A practice that places a written, legally enforceable fiduciary duty on every adviser.
When SEBI registration formalised that commitment in 2017, it wasn't a change in direction — it was a credential catching up to a conviction that was already years old.
Anshul's Gold Medal rigour from IIM Indore and deep grounding in SEBI's regulatory framework gave the practice its analytical backbone. Shobhit's research instincts gave it its investment philosophy. Together, the foundations were complete. Analytical depth. Fiduciary obligation. Long-term focus. Client-first, always.
The Idea
Inertia was conceptualised by Shobhit Khare as a personal investment framework — a response to a simple paradox: being close to markets every day, yet not having a disciplined approach to his own wealth. It wasn't a business yet. Just a philosophy taking shape.
Inertia Becomes a Practice
Anshul Khare leaves his career at Wipro and begins building Inertia as a client-facing practice. The conviction is clear from the start: fee-based, long-term, and built entirely on trust.
SEBI Registered
Inertia obtains its SEBI Investment Adviser registration — formalising what had already been built on the ground: a rigorous, fiduciary approach to wealth advisory.
₹30 Cr+ AUA
A meaningful milestone, reached entirely through referrals and reputation. No paid acquisition. No commission-driven onboarding. Just the compounding effect of client trust, delivered quietly over nearly a decade.
117+ client relationships. ₹40 Cr+ AUA.
Inertia remains a deliberate, boutique practice — built for depth over breadth. A carefully curated set of long-term relationships with working professionals who share a belief in patient, low-churn investing.

He designed Inertia's core investment framework: evidence-based, fundamentals-first, and ruthlessly free of product bias. His conviction that "an adviser who cannot say no to a product is not an adviser" is something every Inertia client will hear on day one.

What guides us
The values behind every decision.
Fiduciary First
Every decision we make must be in our client's best interest. This is not a marketing claim — it is a SEBI-mandated legal obligation we take seriously.
Radical Transparency
Every fee is disclosed upfront. Every recommendation comes with a written rationale. No hidden commissions, no undisclosed incentives. Ever.
Investor Education
We don't just give advice — we explain it. An informed client makes better decisions, holds through volatility, and builds more wealth over time.
Research Over Noise
We tune out market noise, media narratives, and fear-based investing. Every portfolio is built on fundamental analysis and evidence, not headlines.
Long-term Relationships
We deliberately limit client numbers to ensure each relationship receives the depth and attention it deserves. We are not a mass-market product.
Regulatory Integrity
SEBI compliance is never treated as a checkbox. We maintain the highest standards of our RIA registration and welcome any regulatory scrutiny.
